Intelligent Computing Can Be Fascinating! Exploring the "Power of Computation" at Zhejiang LabRelated Content
The Standardization Administration of the P.R.China (SAC) has recently issued a Letter of Approval for the Establishment of the National Technical Standard Innovation Base (Intelligent Computing). After being evaluated by the acceptance inspection expert group, the National Technical Standard Innovation Base (Intelligent Computing) has been completed and was officially approved for establishment. It is now the only national technical standard innovation base in the computing field.
The National Technical Standard Innovation Base plays a crucial role in China's standardization system. It is a significant platform that effectively integrates standard techniques, testing and certification, intellectual property rights, standard samples, and scientific and industrial resources. The base explores innovative ways to develop standardization and technology in tandem, implement and apply standards, and synchronize domestic and international standardization across all types of standards and throughout the standards development lifecycle.
In April 2021, the National Technical Standard Innovation Base (Intelligent Computing) was approved and successfully passed the acceptance inspection in December 2023 with outstanding results. Throughout the construction period, under the guidance of the State Administration for Market Regulation and with strong support from the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Government and the departments concerned, and following the development philosophy of "advancing both scientific research and standardization", Zhejiang Lab (ZJ Lab), as the project undertaker.
It has established a "mechanism featuring five synergies" in scientific research and standardization;
has established the National Standardization Working Group on Intelligent Computing (SAC/SWG32);
has released the Intelligent Computing Standardization White Paper in partnership with 100 organizations to develop the national standard system for intelligent computing;
has developed 19 international standards, 11 national standards, 8 industry standards and 49 group standards in key fields such as heterogeneous computational power collaboration, supercomputing interconnection, and in-memory computing;
has intensified efforts to promote the internationalization of intelligent computing standards, holding the position of deputy head of the domestic counterparts of IEC/SyC COMM and convener of the domestic technical counterparts of IEC TC47/WG6 and IEC TC47/SC47E/WG1;
and has worked with ISO/IEC JTC1 AG2 to develop the technical report titled Intelligent Computing Technology Trends.
All of the tasks have been completed.
Next, the base will focus on "reforms, innovations, and services". It will utilize its agglomeration and driving effect to upgrade the system of standards on intelligent computing. The base will establish full processes that cover research, development of standards, testing and verification, product development and industrial application of key generic technologies for intelligent computing. This will further expand the influence of China's intelligent computing industry and enhance its international competitiveness. As a result, the high-quality development of the intelligent computing industry will be effectively guaranteed.
