The Intelligent Guide Robot project aims at developing an intelligent mobile robot that is able to provide human-like guide services to visitors in public venues such as exhibit halls and museums. We will develop novel algorithms for robotic perception to achieve robust localization in crowded dynamic environments, and reliable human detection and tracking around the robot. We will also investigate natural human-robot interaction by using both verbal and nonverbal communication. Furthermore, the project will provide software development kit to help developers create new functionalities and applications based on our robot platform. The robot will be deployed in the new campus of Zhejiang Lab.
