With family and elderly care services as a long-term goal, the project takes park navigation as its current application scenario. In the early stage, the project team has focused on breakthroughs in key technologies of bipedal robots, such as the mechanical design of energy-efficient and lightweight legs, robust dynamic balance control, the planning and control of energy-efficient human-like gaits, and intelligent sensing and scene understanding. The team will further work on the development of high real-time control systems and software frameworks, and develop a prototype platform for high-performance bipedal robots.

The team consists of multiple technical groups concerning areas including mechanical design, motion control, SLAM, embedded systems, and strategic planning. The team is mainly composed of postdoctoral researchers, PhD graduates, and excellent master graduates from well-known Chinese and overseas universities such as Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Duke University, and the University of Melbourne. During RoboCup 2019, the team won the second prize in the League of Teen-size Humanoid Robots.
