By "seizing every moment" and "accelerating" its speed, Zhejiang Lab is to make "a good start" of high-quality development in the new stage.

On February 2, the Lab's President ZHU Shiqiang stressed at the 2023 Key Task Progression Meeting the importance of thoroughly studying and implementing relevant principles of the central government and the requirements of the CPC Provincial Committee put forward on the "First Meeting of Spring" to make innovation as the strategic core, reform as the strong driving force and opening-up as the key to succeed, constantly improve internal capacities, accelerate development, and to further enhance the Lab's first-mover advantage to make new achievements and firmly shoulder the mission of building up national technological forces.

Sprinting from the start. President ZHU emphasized that, we need to deepen reform and stimulate vitality, build up the initiative of the reform, arouse the enthusiasm of reform and adhere to the systematic reform, accelerate innovations in concept, technology, application, pattern and culture, drive innovation, reform and opening-up to a higher level and keep improving the level of development; we need to transfer pressure, increase impetus, overcome the laziness of inertial development, build up strong awareness of risks, dare to put pressure on ourselves and improve the awareness, assumption and performance of accountability; we need to improve our way of work and executive ability, build up the awareness of efficiency, keep our enterprising status, maintain our bottom line of integrity, improve our sense of responsibility of "one day of inaction, three days of insecurity", keep our sense of urgency that "slow progress means retreat, and no progress means retreat" and pull all our efforts to keep tenacity, catch up with the first-class and seek stable and long-term development; we need to optimize our methods of collaboration, stick to the problem-oriented, learning and coordinated methodology with clear emphasis and draw from the collective forces of efficient collaboration, advantageous integration and arduous endeavors; and we need to yield practical results, accelerate the formation of a batch of symbolic achievements with Zhejiang Lab identities, mainly solve a batch of key issues holding back high-quality development, strive to accomplish major projects of the year and stick to concrete and prior execution and results.

Upon detailed analysis, the Meeting identified primary development indicators of the Lab in 2023 and relevant heads in charge of the Lab delivered reports on their respective key work of the year and the targets of the first half of the year. Heads of all functional departments and research institutes (centers) all attended the Meeting.
