Research Focus

1.  Design and fabrication of advanced high-performance ultrasonic transducer, including high-frequency single-element transducers, linear/phased arrays, 2D matrix arrays, etc.

2.  Biomedical imaging technologies, including ultrasonic imaging, photoacoustic imaging, intravascular ultrasound imaging, acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) imaging, etc.

3.  Advanced piezoelectric materials, including single crystals, composites, lead-free materials, polymers, etc.

4.  New ultrasound applications, including ultrasonic diagnosis and treatment, manipulation of microparticles using ultra-high frequency ultrasonic radiation force, flexible ultrasonic transducers, ultrasound energy harvesting, etc.

Research Outcomes

1. Dr. CHEN has published 72 papers in SCI journals with over 2,600 citations, and an h-index of 29 (Source: Google Scholar). One of his papers was selected as a Front Cover and Highly Cited Articles of IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, while another paper was selected as Editor's Selection of Articles by the same journal. A third one was selected as a Back Cover of Advanced Functional Materials.

2. Dr. CHEN has applied for 12 Chinese invention patents.
