The United Nations World Data Forum 2023 was held from April 24 to 27 in Hangzhou, organized by the United Nations and hosted by the National Bureau of Statistics of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. The Forum, themed "Towards Data that Empowers Our World", provides a communication platform for global data producers and users to facilitate data innovations and partnerships and promote the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

During the forum, the National Bureau of Statistics of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province signed the Cooperation Agreement on Facilitating the Joint Development of the United Nations Global Platform for Big Data China Hub, demonstrating the strength of digital empowerment to the world. At the event, an exhibition area was set up including five sections: "Global Vision, China's Smart Statistics, Digital Zhejiang, Hangzhou Practices, and Data Industry". In the Data Industry section, the multi-center intelligent medical information platform developed by Zhejiang Lab (ZJ Lab) has received much attention. The platform uses intelligent computing technology to solve the problems of "unable to use", "dare not use" and "can't use" medical data. Without the original data leaving hospitals, this platform realizes the sharing of data analysis results from several Grade A tertiary hospitals in the Yangtze River Delta region to activate the massive clinical data that are "sleeping" in medical institutions and find out potential disease information therefrom, such as early screening of disease risks and personalized management of chronic diseases, which has achieved remarkable results.

"The rise of digital technology and its ever-expanding application scenarios have created massive data." ZHU Shiqiang, President of ZJ Lab, said that while building up data, computational power and algorithm platforms, we should also focus on forming knowledge and scenario platforms to realize breaking-through innovations and applications of big data, as well as using data for decision-making, governance and innovation.
