November 12 was a warm day. The Nanhu Headquarters was seeing Zhejiang Lab's families. The well-organized workplace was transformed into an "amusement park". Grabbing dolls, shooting at the basket, driving race cars… These outdoor games always attracted kids.

On the site of scientific research, ZJ Lab's employees and their families enjoyed a robot's piano performance. Their postures were captured to make short videos. They also immersed themselves in "cool technologies".

In the exhibition hall, when the photos of ZJ Lab's employees displayed on the screen that read "Dedication to Science and National Prosperity", everyone stopped to take a picture with their family.

On this special day, the employees' representatives shared their feelings with ZJ Lab's families.

01 JIN Xiongnan, Senior Researcher of the Research Center for Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery

Before joining the Lab, I was engaged in postdoctoral work in the United States. I'm very lucky that ZJ Lab gave me a chance to serve my home country.

In the Lab, I usually have a lot of opportunities to listen to the reports of experts in various fields and attend various skills training. More importantly, the Lab has close cooperation with the government, universities and enterprises so that I can improve myself in scientific research projects and serve the country and the people.

In addition to encouraging us to explore the frontiers of science and technology, the Lab also provides us with a living guarantee. When I came on board, my kid was only three years old. My ethnic group is Korean, so my kid is accustomed to our Korean dialect. The Lab's kindergarten teacher learned Korean especially for my kid, which touched me deeply.

02 ZHANG Hong, Deputy Director of Center for Talent Development and Support of the Department of Human Resources

As No. 51 employee of the Lab, I feel honored to contribute my share to the Lab's human resource management. I also see it as a responsibility. With the rapid expansion of the Lab's staff and the increasing complexity of work standards and salary system, working overtime unconsciously has become a common part of our work. I always take my computer with me at night, on weekends or even during my vacation in case of emergency. This has also become a common professional habit of my colleagues in our department. I want to say thank you to my family. Thank you, my husband. You went through your surgery when my department was in a particularly busy time. I had to keep making calls and dealing with work when I was taking care of you in the ward. Thank you for your understanding. I also want to thank my mom and daughter. I've never been home for dinner from Monday to Friday. Thank you for supporting me with your tolerance. Mom, thank you for taking care of my daughter. Today, many colleagues' families have come to the Lab. As a member of the Lab, I would like to say thank you to all of you for your understanding, tolerance and support.

03 ZHANG Liping, ZHANG Ning's mother-in-law, Deputy Director of Research Center for Quantum Sensing

On June 18, I was honored to attend the opening ceremony of "Fangzhong Zhihai" Scientists Residence. Today, I came to the Lab again to participate in the Family Open Day, which made me fully feel the Lab's love and care for all the employees. As a family member, I'm grateful that my daughter-in-law can engage in her favorite scientific research in such a loving environment and realize her dream of life. ZHANG Ning joined ZJ Lab immediately after finishing her Ph.D. She has harvested a lot, which is inseparable from the harmonious working atmosphere created by all her colleagues. Supported by excellent employees, ZJ Lab will have a brighter future.
